Like never before, hotel guests want to be rolled in designer sheets, wrapped up in spa treatments, and surrounded with security, according to professionals in the travel and tourism industry. This is precisely the niche that SRD International fills.
Current hotel trends predict a passion for luxury, as well-to-do baby boomers expect — and demand — more from their lodgings.

Spa treatments aren’t just found at resorts anymore, but also are increasingly being added to more ordinary mom-and-pop establishments. And many upscale hotels are trying to distinguish themselves from the competition by finding a unique niche for their spas — for instance, swanky Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley, Calif., offers wine-themed facials and massages using grape seed oil.
Hotels are also upgrading their lighting and decor, switching to high-quality mattresses and bedding, and providing easy access throughout for aging travelers, who have the money and leisure time to take pricey trips.
In addition, says California Travel and Tourism Commission member Ted Balestreri, American travelers’ No. 1 concern is security. Hotels are adding video cameras and extra personnel to keep an eye on the premises at all times.
Other intriguing shifts:European travelers are anxious to spend their Euros in the U.S., and about a third of all vacation bookings are being made on the Internet, according to Balestreri. Not only that, but more men are seeking luxury spa treatments, seeking not only relaxation, but better skin and nail care.
